Tried and True Wisdom

I committed to write daily in January. Unfortunately, I failed to remember that creativity and inspiration are not defined by a calendar or clock. I made several attempts, but wasn't really happy with anything I came up with.
Not wanting to give up on this exercise in discipline, I turned to a tried and true exercise: Make a list.
Here is the result: 15 nuggets of Bible-based wisdom that have served me well. Some are quoted. Some are not. I challenge you to read them for yourself and make them your own.

1. Make God your first priority. The rest will come. Matthew 6:33
2. Forgiveness and a new start are as close as asking. 1 John 1:9
3. God's love never ends, and every day is an opportunity for a fresh start. Lamentations 3:22
4. God requires just 3 things. Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with Him. Micah 6:8
5. You reap what you sow. 2 Corinthians 9:6
6. Memorize God's Word and apply it. Transformation starts with renewing your mind. Romans 12:2
7. When you need advice don't ask someone who isn't following God. Psalm 1:1
8. Don't be a hater. Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. Proverbs 10:11
9. Fear is not of God. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
10. Marry a good woman. He who finds a good wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22
11. You are not alone. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
Here are some direct quotes:
12. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:7-8
13. Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38
14. The Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. Proverbs 3:26
15. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
